Tia Speaks

Tia can customize speaking topics based on your event and/or theme or develop unique content for your specific needs. Some of her favorite topics include:

A Writer’s D.E.V.O.T.I.O.N
Using the story of her personal journey to publication, Tia presents and expounds on eight key elements needed by aspiring authors. Her testimony is not only entertaining, but full of practical resources and steps that will take a writer’s dreams and unpublished work closer to their desired destination – publication. This is geared to beginning writers of both fiction and non-fiction and is an appropriate resource for writer’s conferences, writing groups, and other literary organizations.

Sentence CPR
A writing workshop geared toward beginning and intermediate writers of fiction. Key components of the workshop will help participants resuscitate dead sentences, bring verbs back to life, and rehabilitate weak verbs and dialogue. E.L. Doctorow once said, “Good writing is supposed to evoke sensation in the readers – not the fact that it is raining, but the feeling of being rained upon.” Let the rain begin!

A Sweet Blend of Faith & Fiction
This workshop can be taught as a thirty-minute addition to the Sentence CPR workshop or as an hour-long independent workshop. Tia will teach participants how to seamlessly weave faith into their works of fiction so that it’s delivered in a way that’s enlightening and inspiring instead of as a disruptive afterthought to the plot.

Your Mama Isn’t As Crazy As You Think!
Your mama might have said things like “Don’t pick at it or it will get infected” and “If you open your eyes as wide as your mouth you find what you’re looking for,” but she was only trying to help you reach your destiny and full potential in life. Tia gives a funny and insightful presentation that is the perfect fit for casual banquets, conferences, and the like.

Household COO (Chief Operating Officer)
Learn effective tips and strategies for running a household and lifestyle of order. Chaos and clutter can clog up the mind and stifle your rest, creativity and peace. Some of the subtopics addressed in this presentation include meal planning, document organization (personal and business), scheduling, and maintaining your home as a sanctuary and not a sanitation dump. Participants will be armed with the tools and inspiration to eliminate their mental and physical clutter. Household COO can be geared toward singles, both corporate and stay-at-home mothers, entrepreneurs, or a mixed audience. It can be tailored to religious or civic organizations.

Think It. Plan It. Make It Happen.
This thirty-minute interactive workshop can be added to the Household COO presentation. It is a brainstorming session for people serious about moving to the next level of success in their personal or business lives. This workshop utilizes calendars, task sheets, goal planning forms and other planning resources. Knowledge and wisdom applied from this workshop works well if participants attend with an accountability partner such as a spouse, family member, close friend or business associate. Appropriate for religious or civic organizations.
